OSX Users no longer benefit from Safari updates if they’re using an OS older than 10.7 Lion. Safari 6 fixes many vulnerabilities and it’s crucial that you stay up to date with patches.

Alternatively you can use Chrome or Firefox, which will remain supported. I personally like Chrome.

Apple has not been making it clear to users that they’re cut out if they aren’t completely up to date. I asked a friend if they knew about this and they were pretty pissed off to find out that Apple hadn’t made them aware of this – they weren’t on 10.8.

Over 100 patches were made. That’s over 100 vulnerabilities that users have to worry about.

If you’re using Lion you can install Safari 6 but Snow Leopard users are out of luck.
